Person Centred Counsellor, Equine Assisted Psychotherapy, EMDR, Breathwork
Ivan Broad is a qualified Counsellor/ Psychotherapist (Person-Centred) and Supervisor. He has subsequently qualified in Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP), EMDR and Alchemical Breathwork Therapy.
After qualifying in Person Centred Therapy in 2008 Ivan worked for 9 years in a prison therapeutic community (TC). The community held 40 residents and Ivan facilitated groups, helping offenders to understand themselves and their offences. Ivan held the positions of Counsellor and Therapy Manager in the prison service, leaving in 2017 to establish his private practice.
Ivan trained and qualified in Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EFP) in 2017 and EMDR in 2018. In 2018, Ivan started a Community Interest Company offering EFP to people in his local community. Ivan has been a tutor for LEAP Equine on their accredited qualification in EFP/EFL.
Alchemical Breathwork - in 2019 Ivan began training in Alchemical Breathwork Therapy with First-Breath training. Breathwork is a holistic practice which can take clients into a deep process, bringing change for people at a cellular level through conscious connected breathing. Ivan graduate through the First-Breath Breathwork training in September 2021 and graduated as a Workshop Leader with the same organisation in September 2022.
Ivan is deeply passionate about accompanying clients on a journey of self discovery and change, having been on a long journey himself. Ivan has processed childhood trauma personally through sessions of Breathwork, EMDR and Equine Therapy and knows the healing potential of all of these modalities. Each allows learning and the integration of energy in different ways.
Ivan is a member of the training team at First-Breath Alchemical Breathwork Training Program and continues to develop his practice.

Ivan is a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), an accredited member of the National Counselling Society (NCS) and a member of the International Breathwork Foundation.
