Psychological Hypnotherapy

Hypnosis is a state of altered consciousness.  In this altered state of consciousness, the conscious, rational part of the brain is temporarily bypassed, making the subconscious part, which influences mental and physical functions, receptive to change.

The hypnotic state enables client and therapist to bypass distractions and explore the root causes that stymie best intentions, limit potential, sabotage psychological growth and if left unchecked, can prove harmful to our physical wellbeing.

The symptoms of deep rooted beliefs; addictions, insomnia, stress, overeating, the inability to perform and low self-esteem can remain frustratingly beyond our conscious ability to control them.   The greater our resistance the more they persist. The good news is that symptoms, no matter how uncomfortable and unpleasant, are a sign of health.  There to alert us to a problem, in much the same way that physical pain informs us that we need to attend to an injury.

Hypnotherapy can be an effective treatment for many psychological and emotional difficulties including: stress, anxiety, panic, phobias, unwanted habits and addictions (e.g. smoking, overeating and alcoholism), lack of confidence, fear of examinations and public speaking, allergies and skin disorders, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and many more. Additionally, it has proved of value for pain management and in the areas of both sporting and artistic performance enhancement.
