Person Centred Counsellor
John is a fully qualified counsellor, a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP), and has been counselling adults for over six years. John’s core therapeutic approach is person-centred, and he also integrates transactional, cognitive behavioural and existential elements into his work.
John began training as a counsellor in 2007, studying for two years with Manchester Metropolitan University (Cert HE Counselling) and a further two years at Salford University (PgDip Counselling and Psychotherapy).
John's background includes 20 years working in business and, having made a series of life changes in his journey to becoming a counsellor, is particularly passionate about the role of therapy in helping us grow to fulfil our unique potential - no matter where our starting point.
Accreditation and Memberships
John is listed on the BACP Register – which is approved by the Professional Standards Authority for Health and Social Care – and abides by the BACP Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling.
